China plans launch of new weather satellite in December

China will launch its fifth geostationary meteorological satellite, Fengyun-2-06, in late December, according to the China Meteorological Administration (CMA).

Nickname for greenhouse gas measuring satellite selected

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Japan’s National Institute for Environment Studies, and the Ministry of the Environment have selected a nickname for the Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite (GOSAT).
