Stranded satellite finally reaches geosynchronous orbit

AMC-14, which had stranded in transfer orbit after a launch failure in March 2008, has finally reached geosynchronous orbit using its on-board thrusters. It is currently located at around 35 degrees East, with an inclination of more than 13 degrees, according to 27 January tracking data.

SBIRS GEO-1 completes Baseline Integrated System Test

The first Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) geosynchronous orbit (GEO-1) satellite, built by a Lockheed Martin team for the U.S. Air Force, has successfully completed a major test utilising new flight software.
