Khrunichev continues work on South Korea’s KSLV-1

Russia’s Khrunichev Space Center said it continues to build Stage 1 for the South Korea’s first space launch vehicle, KSLV-1, which is to be launched in 2009 from Naro Space Center which is under construction on Oenaro Island.

Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne prepares hardware for Ares I-X

In preparation for NASA’s first Ares I-X test flight in August, engineers from Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne have finished pressurising and loading 640 kg of propellants into heritage hardware from the Peacekeeper missile system.

Second H-IIB test delayed

The Second Captive Firing Test (CFT) of the First Stage Flight Model Tank for the H-IIB Launch Vehicle has been delayed owing to bad weather.

Raytheon awarded risk reduction contract for GPS OCX

Raytheon Company received a contract extension to perform additional risk-reduction activities for the U.S. Air Force’s next-generation Global Positioning System Operational Ground Control Segment, or GPS OCX.

The LGL Group announces new projects for MtronPTI subsidiary

SES Americom-New Skies to deliver CNN across Europe

SES Americom-New Skies announced that Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS) has signed a five-year distribution and contribution agreement for CNN delivery to and from Europe and the Middle East.

Sanswire receives funding commitment from Global Telesat

Sanswire-TAO Corp., the airship manufacturing joint venture equally owned by Sanswire Corp. and TAO Technologies GmbH, announced that it has received a funding commitment for US$1.4 million arranged by satellite tracking provider Global Telesat Corp. (GTC) and has commenced construction of its first production commercial/government use unmanned autonomously controlled, Lighter than Air (LTA) airship, designated the STS-111.

Mars rover continues to suffer from temporary amnesia

After three days of completing Earth-commanded activities without incident last week, NASA’s Mars Exploration Rover Spirit had a bout of temporary amnesia on 17 April and rebooted its computer on 18 April, behaviour similar to events about a week earlier.
