According to Arianespace’s annual report, minor modifications are planned to be made to the Ariane 5 ECA in order to increase its payload capacity by 400 kg. Part of the problem is the recent trend towards smaller satellites, which makes it harder to find matching satellites for dual launches.

Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) said the country’s Paksat 1R satellite would be launched on 14 August 2011.

South Korean officials said that the Unha-2 rocket recently launched by North Korea did follow a trajectory that was consistent with a satellite launch. Their version of what happened is also slightly different from what has been suspected so far.
