Vinasat-1 a success story so far

Vietnam’s first telecommunications satellite, Vinasat-1, has leased out 70 percent of its capacity just one year after its launch on 19 April 2008, according to operator Vietnam Telecom International (VTI).

NASA/GRC and Boeing win 2008 Software of the Year Award

NASA’s Glenn Research Center and Boeing employees have won the 2008 NASA Software of the Year Award for the development of a general-purpose programme used to perform trajectory optimisation and performance studies for a wide variety of vehicles including aircraft, rockets, satellites and interplanetary vehicles.

Khrunichev continues work on South Korea’s KSLV-1

Russia’s Khrunichev Space Center said it continues to build Stage 1 for the South Korea’s first space launch vehicle, KSLV-1, which is to be launched in 2009 from Naro Space Center which is under construction on Oenaro Island.

Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne prepares hardware for Ares I-X

In preparation for NASA’s first Ares I-X test flight in August, engineers from Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne have finished pressurising and loading 640 kg of propellants into heritage hardware from the Peacekeeper missile system.

Raytheon awarded risk reduction contract for GPS OCX
