GOES-O pre-launch details

A Delta IV is scheduled to launch the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-O (GOES-O) mission for NASA and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on 26 June from Space Launch Complex-37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Telesat to use EPOCH software to control SkyTerra satellites

Integral Systems, Inc., announced a contract with Telesat Canada under which Integral will provide its EPOCH Integrated Product Suite (IPS) of satellite command and control software to support the SkyTerra1 and SkyTerra2 satellites under construction by Boeing.

Update: Sea Launch files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

According to various reports, Sea Launch’s decision to file for Chapter 11 was also caused by the company’s inability to pay a US$52-million arbitration ruling against it.

General Dynamics provides communications link for LRO

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has provided the communications link for NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) mission launched on 18 June 2009. The mission will use General Dynamics-made transceivers to communicate with ground control as it maps and studies the lunar environment.
