Getting More For Less, With Satellite TV

We Americans love our television sets, just as much as we love having a quality television service in our home. Perhaps no other country on the planet is as obsessed as we are with having a veritable universe of programming on our TVs, and some might even argue that it is what helps us be so successful-we are pretty up to speed on most major events in the country and in the world, and after all we are living in the so-called “information age.”

We are a society that is obsessed with images: everything we do in our modern lives is saturated in imagery of one sort or another. The most prevalent type of media that we use for viewing images is undoubtedly the television, and there is hardly a place in the country that doesn’t have TV sets plastered to every wall!

Intelsat reveals some details on planned satellites

Intelsat, Ltd. provided further details with respect to its current fleet investment plan, which is expected to result in a significant improvement in the types and quantities of satellite capacity available to media, networking and government customers in the Asia-Pacific region, the company said.

Oops! No Measat-3a launch on 19 June

Malaysia’s Business Times corrected an earlier report that claimed the launch of Measat-3a was scheduled for 19 June. The paper now said that “The target date for the satellite launch is in the fourth week of June and will be confirmed at a later date.” The article in our archive has been edited accordingly.
