Next shuttle launch on 13 June

NASA managers completed a review of space shuttle Endeavour’s readiness for flight and selected 13 June as the official launch date for the STS-127 mission to the International Space Station.

EADS Astrium delivers Ariane rocket for TerreStar-1 launch

The heavy-lift Ariane 5 for Arianespace’s upcoming mission with the world’s largest commercial telecommunications satellite to be launched was moved to the Final Assembly Building, clearing the way for its integration of the TerreStar-1 payload.

DubaiSat-1 to lift off next July

Yamal-201 temporarily loses orientation

Gazprom Space Systems confirmed that its Yamal-201 satellite had suffered an outage but said that services have meanwhile been restored.

GeoEye-1 problem not expected to materially impact revenues

KVH leases capacity on JCSAT-1B, Intelsat 15

KVH Industries, Inc., announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (also known as SP-JSAT) to lease satellite capacity on its JCSAT-1B and the new Intelsat-15 satellites.

Any satellite TV subscriber will be able to tell you that the beauty of the service lies in the details, and that even well after having originally acquired the service you will still learn new things about your connection capabilities and the multiple features that can be accessed. There really is a tremendous cocktail of perks associated with having a satellite television connection that are purely and simply unavailable for subscribers of other TV services (the unmentionable!), and this state of affairs is quite clearly convincing more and more home viewers that they need to be getting their connection from a satellite provider.
