GOCE gravity mission back in action

ESA’s GOCE gravity mission has earlier than expected recovered from a glitch, which prevented the satellite from sending scientific data to the ground, simply by ground control turning up the heat aboard the spacecraft.

Atlas V selected for GeoEye-2 launch

Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services has been selected by GeoEye, Inc. to launch the company’s next-generation, high-resolution Earth-imaging satellite, GeoEye-2, on an Atlas V rocket. Financial terms are not being disclosed at this time.

First new Globalstars to go up on 19 October

Globalstar has announced 19 October as the scheduled inaugural launch date for six new second-generation Globalstar satellites using a Soyuz launch vehicle.

HYLAS 1 moved to Ariane 5; first Soyuz launch from Kourou delayed again

Avanti Communications said it has agreed the launch slot on an Ariane 5 launch vehicle which opens on 15 November 2010 with launch expected on that day or within a few days thereafter.

Progress M-06M de-orbited
