For many years now, cable TV has enjoyed its position as the number 1 leading source of home entertainment. However, it seems like it may be time for cable to kiss this title good bye. In recent years, satellite TV has emerged as a strong competitor, and, thanks to big advancements in the technology behind this service, it is now giving cable TV a run for its money.

While imagining the off-season might be a painful process for those die-hard fanatics who live and breathe for favorite teams, it is inevitable. Whether the season ends in championship victory or bittersweet playoff defeat, the fact is that there is a stretch of time where favorite players won’t be on living room screens, except when it’s time for “Sportscenter.” And rather than getting worked up or sad about this truth, it makes a whole lot more sense to find different avenues for athletics-related entertainment at home.
