Discovery launch postponed to no earlier than 3 December

NASA managers have postponed a launch status meeting and news conference planned for 22 November. The events were rescheduled after a Space Shuttle Program meeting determined more analysis is needed before proceeding toward the launch of space shuttle Discovery on its STS-133 mission.

STP-S26 pre-launch details

A Minotaur IV is to launch the U.S. Air Force’s Space Test Program-S26 (STP-S26) mission on 20 November, 0124 UTC (too late for this issue). The rocket will carry four microsatellites, two CubeSats, and perform a technology demonstration into low-Earth orbit.

COM DEV USA awarded fourth contract for UHF equipment

COM DEV USA, LLC, a subsidiary of COM DEV International Ltd., announced that it has been awarded a US$6 million contract to provide UHF passive microwave equipment for a U.S. Government satellite payload.

MDA to develop lunar rover prototypes

Oliver Stone is one of the most controversial American film directors, as his films often deal with historical and political subject matter in a highly political manner, adopting what even his biggest fans would consider to be a decidedly leftist slant. His latest project is the follow up to the iconic 1987 Michael Douglas film, Wall Street – Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. Michael Douglas reprised his role as Gordan Gekko, the New York-based financial trader who coined the now-classic phrase “greed is good”. Gekko has been released from jail after serving 8 years in a state penitentiary for committing “white collar” crimes like insider trading…
