Endeavour lifts off for last trip to space

Space shuttle Commander Mark Kelly and his five crewmates are on their way to the International Space Station after launching from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at 1256 UTC. The STS-134 mission is the penultimate orbiter flight and the final one for shuttle Endeavour.

Delay of the day: GSAT-8, ST-2

No delay for Spektr-R

The launch of Russia’s Spektr-R astrophysical observatory (RadioAstron) into orbit, set for July, will not be postponed, a Russian official was quoted as saying.

Eutelsat leases Chinese satellite as gapfiller

SIA applauds interim assessment of satellite export control policy

The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) applauded the release by the U.S. Departments of Defense, State, and Commerce of an interim report that assesses the national security impact of reforming United States export control policy for satellites. Congress requested the Report in Section 1248 of the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act.
