Measat to market IPSTAR capacity for Malaysia

The Measat Global Berhad Group announced that an agreement has been signed with Thaicom Public Company Ltd for the Malaysian payload of the Thaicom 4 (IPSTAR) satellite. The agreement was executed by a Measat subsidiary.

SES joins forces with Kenyan telecoms group Wananchi

SES S.A. said it has joined forces with Kenyan television and broadband operator Wananchi to launch a new Direct-to-Home (DTH) line-up called Zuku TV in East Africa.

New Dawn’s C-band reflector still stuck

NASA orders laser for ICESat-2

NASA has selected Fibertek, Inc. of Herndon, Virginia, to design, develop, fabricate, test and deliver laser systems to be used for the Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) mission scheduled to launch in 2016.

NASA selects OSIRIS-REx as third New Frontiers mission

NASA plans to launch a spacecraft to an asteroid in 2016 and use a robotic arm to pluck samples. The mission, called Origins-Spectral Interpretation-Resource Identification-Security-Regolith Explorer, or OSIRIS-REx, will be the first U.S. mission to carry samples from an asteroid back to Earth.
