SES Astra capacity for Austria, Ukraine

SES Astra announced that ProsiebenSat.1 Group has signed a long-term capacity contract for one transponder with SES Astra. BBC’s TV Coverage of Glastonbury 2011 Shines Again, Unlike the Weather

While the overall line up this year was poor by other year’s standards, they certainly spared no expense when it came to headline acts with U2, Coldplay and Beyonce doing the honours on the Pyramid stage. This was in direct contrast to last year where the main headline acts were relatively poor with the exception of Muse but the smaller, less well known and up and coming bands taking my interest and my poor little legs all over the site.

Launch of Astra 1N, BSAT-3c/JCSAT-110R on “Bild rocket” delayed

The launch of Astra 1N, BSAT-3c/JCSAT-110R aboard an Ariane 5 from Kourou on 1 July (UTC) was postponed. A new launch date has not been immediately announced.

MMSOC extended to ORS-1

Lockheed Martin announced that the Multi-Mission Satellite Operations Center Ground System Architecture recently extended its mission capability to Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, with the successful launch the U.S Air Force’s ORS-1 satellite.

EUMETSAT held its 72nd Council meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 28-29 June. Four member states refused to approve the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation (EPS-SG) Preparatory Programme Proposal.
