Eutelsat orders W3B from Astrium

Eutelsat Communications announced that it is expanding its commercial response to high-growth video, data, telecom and broadband markets with the opening of business at the 3 degrees East orbital position. Lowering of ERS-2 orbit continues

The orbit of ESA’s retired ERS-2 observation satellite is being lowered to reduce the risk of collision with other satellites or space debris. Millions of people are obese, which is in part due to overeating, eating unhealthy foods, and an overall lack of exercise. As news about health statistics have spread, the American public has become much more interested in getting healthy, but many people don’t know where to start. People are so accustomed to their everyday, unhealthy routines, that they don’t know what kind of changes they need to make in order to fix things. China launches latest IGSO navigation satellite

Rocket: Chang-Zheng 3A; Payload: Beidou-2 ‘Compass-IGSO-4′; Date: 26 July 2011, 2144 UTC; Launch site: Xichang Satellite Launch Center, China. The launch was successful, according to the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology.

NASA’s Jupiter-bound Juno spacecraft mated to its rocket

NASA’s Juno spacecraft completed its last significant terrestrial journey with a 25-kilometer trip from Astrotech Space Operations in Titusville, Floria, to its launch pad at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The solar-powered, Jupiter-bound spacecraft was secured into place on top of its rocket at 1442 UTC.

Turksat turns to GMV for control of its satellites
