SES S.A. announced that the SES-2 satellite has safely arrived at the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. The SES-2 spacecraft, manufactured by Orbital Sciences Corporation, will now be readied for launch on board an Ariane 5 ECA booster, scheduled for lift-off early September 2011.

Boeing announced that its Space & Intelligence Systems division has completed a key compatibility test of its UHF hosted payload with the company’s newest satellite. The 702MP model satellite IS-22 is being built for Intelsat.

The Operational Land Imager (OLI), built by Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp., Boulder, Colorado, has been approved by NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for shipment to Orbital Sciences Corporation, Gilbert, Arizona for integration onto the Landsat Data Continuity Mission (LDCM) spacecraft.

China will put into space a high-definition civil survey satellite, the first of its kind in the country, at the end of this year, said an official of the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation.
