SSTL has announced that it will launch the NigeriaSat-2 and NigeriaSat-X satellites on behalf of the Nigerian National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) by a Dnepr launch vehicle from Yasny, Russia, on 17 August 2011.

The Arabsat 5C satellite built by Astrium and Thales Alenia Space has left the Astrium facilities in Toulouse, France, and was transported by air to Kourou, French Guiana, in preparation for its launch by an Ariane 5 vehicle in September 2011.
