Skynet 5D, Mexsat Bicentenario pre-launch details

The Skynet 5D satellite has joined its Mexsat Bicentenario co-passenger on Ariane 5, marking a new milestone in preparations for Arianespace’s seventh and final heavy-lift flight of 2012 from the Spaceport in French Guiana – scheduled for 19 December. The target orbit is 249.7 km x 35,977 km x 2 degrees.

NASA GRAIL twins complete their moon impact

Engineers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, have received confirmation that the twin GRAIL spacecraft have, as planned, completed their impact into the moon.

AEHF team completes integration milestone ahead of schedule

The U.S. Air Force and Lockheed Martin have integrated the system module for the fourth Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite six months ahead of schedule. The milestone marks the completion of the first major phase in the satellite’s assembly, integration and test.

Plans for ExoMars approved

Cooperation between ESA and Roskosmos on ExoMars, the European Mars exploration led by Thales Alenia Space as prime contractor, was officially approved by the members of the European Space Agency (ESA) on 19 November 2012.
