NASA has successfully completed the Space Launch System (SLS) preliminary design review.

Pre-launch checkout is now underway with Eutelsat 25B/Es’hail 1, which is one of two satellite passengers to be orbited on Arianespace’s fourth heavy-lift Ariane 5 mission of 2013.

India’s advanced weather satellite INSAT-3D, launched in the early hours of 26 July 2013 from Kourou, French Guiana, has successfully been placed in geosynchronous orbit after three orbit raising manoeuvres commanded from ISRO’s Master Control Facility at Hassan.

Astrium has been awarded a contract by global satellite operator Telesat to build the latest addition to Telesat’s fleet of communications satellites. This satellite will use Astrium’s Eurostar E3000 platform.

Ekspress-AM4R and Ekspress-AM7 spacecraft are being fabricated by the Astrium Satellites on RSCC orders. As of today, fabrication has been completed of the service module (service bus) and communications module (payload) for Ekspress-AM4R.

28 July 2013 marked one year since the small spacecraft MiR, developed and constructed in-house at the Reshetnev Company, was launched. Around a dozen of various experiments have been conducted aboard the satellite over this period.

ATK reported operating results for the first quarter of its fiscal year 2014, which ended on 30 June 2013.
