Summary of findings released on Proton launch failure to ILS

A summary of the findings on the root cause and corrective action plan following the failure of the 2 July Proton M/Block DM mission with three GLONASS navigational satellites for the Russian Federal Government has been released to International Launch Services (ILS) upon being cleared by Russian security.

New date for inaugural Epsilon flight

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) decided to postpone the launch of the first Epsilon Launch Vehicle (Epsilon-1) with the Spectroscopic Planet Observatory for Recognition of Interaction of Atmosphere (SPRINT-A) onboard to 27 August 2013.

Successful berthing of HTV4 to the International Space Station (ISS)

The H-II Transfer Vehicle “Kounotori 4″ (HTV4) started its final approach to the International Space Station (ISS), and was captured by the ISS robotic arm at on 9 August . After being manoeuvred by the arm, the HTV4 was successfully berthed to the ISS at 1122 UTC on 10 August.

U.S. Air Force awards contract option to SSL
