Airbus presents new antenna for satellites

Airbus, ESA and Eutelsat presented the new ground breaking multibeam active antenna payload at Airbus in Madrid. Airbus’ ELSA+ (ELectronically Steerable Antenna+) is a first for commercial satellite communications in Europe.

ITU Members agree to new milestones for NGSOs

Delegates representing International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Member States have agreed at the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19) in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to adopt a new milestone-based approach for the deployment of non-geostationary satellite (NGSO) systems in specific radio-frequency bands and services.

China Satcom files insurance claim over ChinaSat-18

Firefly announces DREAM payloads for inaugural Alpha flight

Firefly Aerospace announced 26 payloads were selected to fly on the Dedicated Research and Education Accelerator Mission (DREAM), a global competition to host academic and educational payloads as rideshare participants on the inaugural flight of the Firefly Alpha launch vehicle.

Eutelsat’s KONNECT satellite ready to ship to launch site

The all-electric KONNECT communications satellite built by Thales Alenia Space for Eutelsat Communications is now undergoing final preparation prior to being shipped to the Guiana Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana, for a launch planned mid-January 2020.
