5G from Space: Airbus and partners to study standards

Airbus Defence and Space and its partners Fraunhofer IIS, Fraunhofer FOKUS, Bundeswehr University Munich and Eurescom GmbH, recently kicked-off a project to study the delivery of standards based on 5G and beyond 5G communication services over a space-based infrastructure.

GomSpace, OHB to implement ESA Hera inter satellite link (ISL)

GomSpace Luxembourg s.a.r.l. and the space technology company OHB have signed a contract for the Inter Satellite Link system for the ESA Hera mission to be delivered in June 2022. The PATP value is €500,000.

GomSpace signs a contract with SpaceAble

GomSpace enters into an agreement with SpaceAble, to enhance the sustainability of Low Earth Orbit (LEO). The contract is worth SEK21 million (€2 million) and the project will begin in 2021 with expected delivery in late 2023.

SBIRS GEO-6 Space Vehicle completes production

U.S. Space Systems Command’s (SSC) Production Corps achieved a major milestone with the completion of the final Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) satellite, SBIRS Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (GEO)-6 at Lockheed Martin’s Sunnyvale, California production facility.

SpaceX CRS-23 successfully completes mission

Aerojet Rocketdyne completes successful SLS rocket engine test series

A recent RS-25 engine test at NASA’s Stennis Space Center completed the Retrofit-2 test series, which validated modernised, lower-cost components for new RS-25 engines to be used on the Space Launch System (SLS) heavy-lift rocket.
