Sfera satellites to have flexible payloads, inter-satellite laser links

TsNIIMash, a leading research institute of Russia’s State Space Corporation Roskosmos will develop satellites capable of altering payload functions in orbit, Director of the Roskosmos Department of Long-Term Programs and the Sfera (Sphere) Project Sergey Prokhorov was quoted as saying.

Galileo satellites given green light for launch

Europe’s next pair of Galileo satellites have been given a green light for launch. The Launch Readiness Review confirmed that the satellites, the supporting ground installations, and the early operations facilities and teams are ready for lift-off.

Russia’s Prichal nodal module docks with ISS

The Prichal nodal module making part of the Progress M-NM space freighter launched from the Baikonur spaceport on 24 November docked with the Russian Nauka multi-purpose research laboratory onboard the International Space Station (ISS).

OHB LuxSpace to use ExoMG propulsion for Triton-X Heavy platform

Exotrail has signed a contract with Luxembourg-based satellite manufacturer OHB LuxSpace for a co-engineering phase aiming the further integration of ExoMG – cluster², a configuration of Exotrail’s high thrust electric propulsion product family, into the Triton-X Heavy platform.

AAC Clyde Space wins order for U.S. DoD satellite mission led by Aegis Aerospace

AAC Clyde Space AB has won an order from Aegis Aerospace to supply its Starbuck power systems and battery solutions worth US$500,000 for a satellite mission carried out on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

Italy, France strengthen co-operation on launchers

Italy and France pledged to strengthen their co-operation on space launchers as part of a broader bilateral treaty. Among the goals laid out in the treaty were pledges to reinforce military connections, including at an industrial level, and work together in the space sector.

Testing confirms JWST on track for targeted launch on 22 December

China launches Zhongxing 1D milcomsat

Rocket: Chang Zheng 3B; Payload: Zhongxing 1D (ChinaSat 1D); Date: 26 November 2021, 1640 UTC; Launch site: Xichang Satellite Launch Center, China. The satellite was deployed into a 182 km x 35,830 km x 27.08 degrees geostationary transfer orbit.
