Astroscale closes largest funding round to date

Astroscale Holdings Inc. announced it closed its Series F round with additional funding of US$109 million from a group of new investors led by THE FUND Limited Partnership in Japan, with participation from international investors. This is the largest funding round in the company’s history and brings the total amount raised to US$300 million.

TAS invests in advanced technology for human space flight

Thales Alenia Space has inaugurated a new Friction Stir Welding facility at one of its production sites in Turin, which will double production capacity of pressurised modules, for the production of the future orbiting and surface infrastructures.

The cargo spacecraft Progress MS-17 has been successfully de-orbited and dumped in the Pacific Ocean far away from shipping routes.

Private Chinese rocket orbits Chinese government satellite

Rocket: Kuaizhou-1A; Payload: Shiyan-11; Date: 24 November 2021, 2341 UTC; Launch site: Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, China. The classified government satellite was deployed into a 489 km x 502 km x 97.45 degrees Sun-synchronous orbit.

Russia launches early warning satellite

Rocket: Soyuz-2.1b; Payload: Tundra 15L; Date: 25 November 2021, 0109 UTC; Launch site: Plesetsk, Russia. The Tundra 15L early warning satellite reached the desired orbit, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The satellite was tracked in a 1,639 km x 38,522 km x 63.79 degrees orbit after separation from the rocket.

ESA Boost! contract for flight demonstration of Spectrum LV
