Phoenix ‘in great shape’ after flawless touchdown on Mars

NASA’s Phoenix spacecraft landed in the northern polar region of Mars on 25 May to begin three months of examining a site chosen for its likelihood of having frozen water within reach of the lander’s robotic arm. It was also the first time a Mars probe was photographed during landing by an orbiting satellite.
