New launch date for China’s first DBS satellite

China’s first direct broadcast satellite (DBS) Chinasat 9 is set to be launched next month, the China Business News reported today, according to sources from China Direct Broadcast Satellite Co Ltd. (DBSAT).

Formosat-3 observations indicate ionospheric changes precede Earthquakes

Taiwanese satellites recorded a sharp drop in ionospheric density above China’s Sichuan Province before the Earthquake a week ago, verifying previous records that seismic activities affect ionospheric density, the China Times reported.

SpaceDev awarded DARPA programme option
