Sea Launch’s Zenit lofts Italian milsatcom spacecraft

Rocket: Zenit 3-SL; Payload: SICRAL 1B; Date: 20 April 2009, 0816 UTC; Site: Odyssey Launch Platform, positioned on the equator at 154 degrees West longitude in the Pacific Ocean. Less than two hours later, the Block DM-SL upper stage inserted the 3,038 kg SICRAL 1B satellite into a high perigee geosynchronous transfer orbit.
