Boeing on 15 June successfully transferred control of the second Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellite to the U.S. Air Force, which will monitor and control the new satellite from Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado.

Boeing Satellite Systems won a US$13.8 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) for Phase 2 of the Fast Access Spacecraft Testbed (FAST) satellite power generation and propulsion programme.

Thales Alenia Space announced the signing of a contract with Orbital Sciences Corporation for the design, development, production and delivery of nine pressurised modules for cargo transport – to include equipment, spare parts, scientific experiments and other items – to the International Space Station (ISS).
