Inmarsat to buy Segovia

Inmarsat plc announced the acquisition of the business and assets of Segovia, Inc., a provider of secure Internet protocol managed solutions and services to the United States Army and other U.S. military services and government agencies.

Iran plans to launch Mesbah clone by 2011

GLONASS-M satellites sent back to manufacturer

Three GLONASS-M satellites have been sent back to manufacturer Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems, Interfax reported citing an unnamed source at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Galileo station at Kourou inaugurated

The site of a ground station for Galileo, Europe’s global navigation satellite system, inside the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), near Kourou in French Guiana, was inaugurated on 19 November.

e-GEOS images to be used for GMES services

On 19 November 2009, the company e-GEOS, which is jointly owned by Telespazio and the Italian Space Agency ASI, announced that it signed a contract with ESA to supply optical and radar satellite data for the European Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) programme.

MDA to provide components for two new Ekspress satellites

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. has signed a contract in excess of C$200 million (EUR126 million, US$187 million) with the Russian Radio Research and Development Institute (NIIR) to provide two advanced technology solutions for the Ekspress AM5 and Ekspress AM6 satellites.
