India to launch Cartosat-2B in spring

India will shortly launch Cartosat-2B, a high-resolution remote sensing satellite, according to Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman K. Radhakrishnan.

Intelsat-16 pre-launch details

An International Launch Services Proton M/Briz M is to launch Intelsat-16 directly into geostationary orbit on 12 February. The launch window opens at 0039 UTC. It will be the first ILS/Proton launch in 2010.

Telespazio renews contracts with Eutelsat

Record-breaking weather satellite to be retired by year-end

Europe’s series of Meteosat satellites has been improving the accuracy of weather forecasts for over 30 years. Meteosat-6 has recently broken the record for the operational life of one of these robust missions – but its days are numbered.
