Israel announces launch of new spy satellite

Israel’s Defence Ministry said it has launched Ofek 9, the latest in a series of spy satellites. So far it has not been announced whether the launch was successful.

‘Cold’ tests of Angara’s second stage have begun

“Cold” bench tests of the second stage module, URM 2, of the Angara rocket have begun at the Space-Industry Research-and-Test Center (NITs RKP), a Russian Federal Governmental Enterprise, rocket manufacturer Khrunichev said.

EUMETSAT 70th Council puts MTG on track

EUMETSAT, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites, held its 70th Council meeting in Rome, Italy, on 21-22 June 2010. At the Council, the texts of the Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) Programme Resolution and Programme Proposal were approved by all Member States, with Germany and Portugal voting yes ad referendum.
