Arabsat 5A, COMS pre-launch details

For its second launch of the year, Arianespace will orbit the Arabsat 5A communications satellite for operator Arabsat, and the COMS multi-mission satellite for the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). Lift-off of the Ariane 5 ECA 1is scheduled for 23 June 2010 between 2141 and 2245 UTC.

Aerojet and NEC collaborate to explore low power ion propulsion systems

Aerojet announced that it has signed an agreement with NEC Corporation to jointly supply Hayabusa-derived ion propulsion systems for the U.S. and Japanese aerospace markets.

Jean-Jacques Dordain to continue as Director General of ESA

The Council of the European Space Agency announced that Jean-Jacques Dordain will continue as the Director General of ESA for a further period of four years. Mr Dordain has served as Director General of ESA since 2003. This third mandate extends his term to June 2015.
