Galileo – an evil empire’s stupid idea?

The head of German company OHB Technology, Berry Smutny, called the European Galileo navigation satellite system a “stupid idea” being pushed by France for military reasons, according to a leaked U.S. diplomatic cable. Mr. Smutny, whose company ironically is the main contractor for the first 14 Galileo satellites, denies having said this – and other things. Yes, it’s WikiLeaks/Cablegate time again.
