Sidus Space announces strategic partnership with Red Canyon Software

Sidus Space, Inc., a Space-as-a-Service satellite company focused on commercial satellite design, manufacture, launch, and data collection, announced a strategic partnership with Red Canyon Software, Inc. (Red Canyon) to support the LizzieSat constellation of 100 satellites.

Boeing all-composite cryogenic fuel tank proves technology ready for use

A new type of large, fully-composite, linerless cryogenic fuel tank, designed and manufactured by Boeing, passed a critical series of tests at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center at the end of 2021. The successful test campaign proves the new technology is mature, safe and ready for use in aerospace vehicles.

Delay of the day: Astra/ELaNa 41

The planned launch of an Astra Space rocket from Florida was scrubbed on 5 January after the failure of ground equipment needed to launch. A new date has not been announced so far.

Russia launches classified military satellite

Rocket: Soyuz-2.1a; Payload: Kosmos 2553; Date: 5 January 2022, 0700 UTC; Launch site: Plesetsk, Russia. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, all pre-launch operations and the launch itself went normally.
