Measat Global Berhad will retire its Measat-3 satellite after an anomaly on 21 20 June.21. The incident resulted in a complete outage of service and is still under investigation in partnership with satellite provider Boeing Satellite Systems (“BSS”).

The third launch of private Chinese company i-Space’s Hyperbola-1 rocket has apparently failed. The vehicle took off from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at approximately 0739 UTC on 3 August.

Rocket Lab announced it has concluded an extensive review into the cause of the anomaly that resulted in the loss of its “Running Out Of Toes” mission launched on 15 May 2021. With the root cause of the issue identified and corrective measures now in place, Electron will be back on the pad for the next mission from Launch Complex 1 later this month.

Arianespace announced the loss of the Vega VV17 mission, which was carrying two payloads, SEOSAT-Ingenio, an Earth-science observation satellite for the European Spatial Agency (ESA) and TARANIS for France’s National Centre for Space Studies (CNES). Human error is suspected to have caused the mishap.

Two microsatellites have failed to separate from their dispenser during the launch of a Vega rocket (Flight VV16), a source was quoted as saying by Sputnik news agency.

The Canadian OSIRIS-REx Laser Altimeter (OLA) did not operate as expected during the 11-hour event and has been declared inoperable.

Another Iranian attempt to launch a satellite has failed, even though reportedly all stages of the flight took place as planned. However, the satellite did not reach the speed needed to inject it into the desired orbit, according to the Iranian Fars news.
