Galileo constellation grows to 28 after Soyuz launch

Rocket: Soyuz ST-B/Fregat MT; Payload: two Galileo satellites (FM 23, FM 24); Date: 5 December 2021, 0019 UTC; Launch site: Sinnamary, French Guiana. Separation of the two satellites from the launcher occurred 4 hours later, at approximately 22,500 km of altitude.

Delay of the day: Atlas V/STP-3

The launch of the Atlas V 551 carrying the Space Test Program (STP)-3 mission for the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC) has been delayed to 6 December at 0904 UTC owing to a leak in the Rocket Propellant (RP)-1 ground storage system.

NASA awards Artemis contract for future rocket boosters

Galileo satellites given green light for launch

Europe’s next pair of Galileo satellites have been given a green light for launch. The Launch Readiness Review confirmed that the satellites, the supporting ground installations, and the early operations facilities and teams are ready for lift-off.

China launches Zhongxing 1D milcomsat

Testing confirms JWST on track for targeted launch on 22 December

Italy, France strengthen co-operation on launchers
