Spire Global and SpaceChain announce new partnership

Spire Global, Inc. announced a new partnership with SpaceChain, a space-as-a-service solutions provider developing the world’s first decentralised satellite infrastructure (DSI). Together, Spire and SpaceChain are launching a mission to demonstrate the feasibility of blockchain technology computation in space and resolve land-based centralised infrastructure issues.

Update: AAC Clyde Space to supply core avionics for Arctic Weather Satellite

AAC Clyde Space has been selected by OHB Sweden to deliver core avionics worth approx. €797,000 to ESA’s Arctic Weather Satellite. The order has been preceded by a tightening of the original requirements of the systems.

Delivering fuel in geostationary orbit, via the moon

Orbit Fab announced that it will soon be launching the first propellant tanker to geostationary orbit. The company’s second tanker will establish flight heritage on all the elements of the company’s tanker technology, which has been designed for the harshest orbital regimes and for refuelling the largest space assets. This announcement comes on the heels of the company’s successful launch of the world’s first Gas Stations in Space propellant depot last June into a low Earth orbit.

Spire Global to accelerate Myriota’s service deployment

Spire Global, Inc. announced a partnership with Myriota. The partnership will leverage Spire Space Services to accelerate Myriota’s global service deployment timeline, expanding the Myriota Network using Spire low-earth orbit nanosatellites. Myriota is the first large-scale, commercial, IoT-focused customer of Spire.

Aliena and OrbAstro to demo propulsion system on 12U satellite

Aliena PTE Ltd (Aliena), a satellite propulsion provider, has signed a contract with Orbital Astronautics Ltd (OrbAstro), a satellite and in-orbit service provider, to fly its AA Multi-modal all-electric AOCS propulsion system onboard an OrbAstro ORB-12 (12U-class satellite) scheduled for launch in September 2022.

Aerojet Rocketdyne awarded NASA contract for Orion main engine

Honeywell expands product offerings for small-satellite market

Honeywell has added three new products to its lineup of space offerings. The newest additions include Honeywell’s X Band Downlink Transmitter and Optical Communication Terminal (OCT), which enable high-bandwidth data to be transmitted both down to Earth and between satellites. Additionally, Honeywell is debuting a new line of Commercial Series reaction wheel assemblies (RWAs) specifically designed for commercial space satellites.
