Intelsat, Ltd. announced that Raymond Svider, a Managing Partner of BC Partners, Intelsat’s majority shareholder, was elected to the position of Chairman at a recent meeting of the Intelsat Board of Directors.

Orange (the key brand of France Telecom) has confirmed its selection of two Eutelsat video neighbourhoods, Hotbird and Atlantic Bird 3, to broadcast by satellite the TV component of its triple play offer (telephone, Internet, TV) in cases where it is not accessible via ADSL.

Harris Corporation has been awarded a 10-year contract valued at more than US$40 million to supply depot support and engineering services for multiple space control systems for the U.S. Space and Missile Systems Center’s Space Superiority Systems Wing at Los Angeles Air Force Base, California.
