Only 40 percent chance for 11 July shuttle launch

The launch of space shuttle Endeavour, currently scheduled for 11 July, may be delayed because of bad weather, according to the latest forecast.

Telesat completes transfer of its interests in Telstar 10

Telesat Canada and APT Satellite Company Limited, Hong Kong, announced that they have closed a transaction pursuant to which Telesat has transferred its leasehold interests in Telstar 10 ( also known as Apstar IIR) to APT, along with certain customer contracts related to the satellite.

ViaSat to provide new communication infrastructure for Africa

ViaSat Inc. has signed two contracts with RascomStar-QAF, the pan-African satellite operator, to deliver satellite systems for high-capacity infrastructure communications carrying pan-African telephony and data between regional and national capitals and for rural telecommunications access across the African continent with RascomStar-QAF VSAT terminals.

Telesat hosts advanced HDTV technology tests
