SBIRS GEO-1 thermovac tests finished

A joint U.S. Air Force/Lockheed Martin-led team announced that it has successfully completed thermal vacuum testing of the first Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) geosynchronous (GEO-1) satellite.

VIIRS finally ready for shipping

The VIIRS sensor for the U.S. National Polar-orbiting Operational Environment Satellite System (NPOESS) has successfully completed all testing at Northrop Grumman Corporation’s subcontractor, Raytheon Company, and is ready for delivery.

Mars Odyssey in safe mode again

NASA’s Mars Odyssey orbiter put itself into a safe standby mode on Saturday, 28 November, and the team operating the spacecraft has begun implementing careful steps designed to resume Odyssey’s science and relay operations within about a week.
