Japan sets launch date for first HEO navigation augmentation satellite

The launch of the H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 18 (H-IIA F18) with the first Quasi-Zenith Satellite “Michibiki” onboard is scheduled for 2 August, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) announced. The satellite is the first in Japan’s planned three-spacecraft GPS augmentation constellation.
