All’s well that end well

Can a spacecraft that suffered a major fuel leak, lost three of its four ion engines as well as two thirds of its attitude control system, return to Earth from an ambitious mission nobody has ever tried before after seven years and a travelled distance of several billion kilometers? Japan’s Hayabusa could, successfully concluding a space story that is probably only second to that of Apollo 13.
