Orbcomm announces FCC approval of acquisition by GI Partners

Orbcomm Inc., a provider of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, announced that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved the transfer of control of Orbcomm’s FCC authorisations in connection with the previously announced acquisition of Orbcomm by GI Partners, a US-based investor in data infrastructure businesses.

Virgin Orbit to become publicly traded on Nasdaq

Virgin Orbit and NextGen Acquisition Corp. II (“NextGen”), a special purpose acquisition company [SPAC], announced that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement under which Virgin Orbit will become a publicly-traded company.

Vector shareholders approve merger with Rocket Lab

Vector Acquisition Corporation, a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company backed by technology investor Vector Capital, announced that Vector’s shareholders voted to approve its proposed merger with Rocket Lab USA, Inc.

Millennium Space Systems demonstrates deployable tape technology

Flight trajectories for OneWeb launches launches to be improved

Flight paths for launches of OneWeb communication satellites from the Baikonur space port will be improved to increase the number of spacecraft launched at a time, the Russian state space corporation Roskosmos said.

Russian tech firm develops new radar for safe launch of satellites

The Scientific Research Institute for Long-Distance Radio Communications (NIIDAR, part of the RTI Systems Group) has developed a radar system of space measurements to ensure the safe launch and operation of satellites in orbit.

OneWeb expands satellite constellation through Soyuz launch

August 23rd, 2021 by

Rocket: Soyuz-2.1b; Payload: 34 OneWeb satellites; Date: 22 August 2021, 0013 UTC; Launch site: Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The mission lasted three hours and 45 minutes. The 34 satellites have been separated, during nine separation sequences, at an altitude of 450 km.
