Arabsat and Thales Alenia Space have signed a contract to build Arabsat-7A, a fully flexible Software-Defined Satellite (SDS) based on the Space Inspire (INstant SPace In-orbit REconfiguration) platform by Thales Alenia Space.

Satellite operator Prométhée has contracted mission integrator NanoAvionics to build the first nanosatellite for the French company’s planned constellation of Earth observation nanosatellites and image analysis platform. “ProtoMéthée-1” will be based on NanoAvionics’ 16U nanosatellite bus M16P.

Vyoma, a startup aiming to make space safer, has partnered with Atos to help improve the safety of satellites in orbit. The partnership leverages Vyoma’s solution for tracking objects in space and Atos’ secure data management system to enable satellite operators to more effectively avoid costly collisions and unnecessary manoeuvring.

Amazon opted for launches with Europe’s new large Ariane 6 rocket when setting up its Project Kuiper satellite constellation in space. MT Aerospace AG, a subsidiary of the German space and technology group OHB SE, is one of the largest supplier of components for this launch vehicle programme and expects good order prospects from the Ariane 6 Prime contractor ArianeGroup, following Arianespace’s launch contract award.
