China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp. (CASIC) plans to launch a technology demonstration satellite in the coming months, according to a senior researcher overseeing the project.

Rocket: Chang Zheng 2C; Payload: seven smallsats; Date: 5 March 2022, 0601 UTC; Launch site: Xichang Satellite Launch Center, China. The satellites were deployed into approx. 480 km × 500 km × 63.45 degrees orbits.

Rocket: Falcon 9; Payload: 47 Starlink satellites; Date: 3 March 2022, 1425 UTC; Launch site: Kennedy Space Center, USA. The spacecraft were deployed into a near circular orbit at an altitude of almost 320 kilometers.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the second in the Inmarsat-6 series of satellites, I-6 F2, from Cape Canaveral, Florida in Q1 2023. Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries launched the first of the series, I-6 F1, in December 2021 and its fully electric propulsion system is now raising it to a geostationary orbital slot.
