Chandra resumes science operations

NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory has successfully resumed observations after recovery from a problem involving one of its science instruments, the Low Energy Transmission Grating (LETG). The LETG is used to measure the intensity of X-rays at different energies.

Meteosat Third Generation takes major step towards its first launch

The first satellite of the next generation of the Meteosat family has taken a major step towards its first flight, currently scheduled for launch in autumn 2022. Following the completion of the first flight model of the Flexible Combined Imager (FCI) in July of this year, the instrument has now been successfully mounted onto the protoflight platform and the combined assembly is now being prepared for the Satellite Thermal Vacuum campaign, which is scheduled to start in early October in Cannes, France.

Yahsat selects GMV to provide spacecraft control systems for Thuraya 4-NGS

Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PJSC has selected GMV to supply the Spacecraft Control & Flight Dynamics Systems for Thuraya 4-NGS, a next-generation L-band mobile communications satellite system scheduled to begin operations in 2024.

Rocket Lab plans high volume reaction wheel production facility

Rocket Lab announced that construction is underway on a new production facility capable of supplying up to 2,000 reaction wheels per year.

L3Harris expands satellite production site

Altius Space Machines to support LOXSAT cryogenic fluid management mission

Voyager Space announced its subsidiary, Altius Space Machines, Inc. was recently selected by Eta Space to provide a cryogenic coupler for liquid oxygen (LOX) transfer in support of its planned nine-month LOXSAT cryogenic fluid management mission.

Webb completes testing and prepares for trip to Europe’s Spaceport

The NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope has successfully completed its final tests and is being prepared for shipment to its launch site at Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.
