United Launch Alliance set to launch GOES-T mission for NOAA and NASA

A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket is in final preparations to launch the GOES-T mission for the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and NASA. The launch, managed by NASA’s Launch Services Program (LSP) based at Kennedy Space Center, is on track for 1 March from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Launch is planned for 2138 UTC.

China’s new-generation rocket sends 22 satellites into space

China lofts new SAR satellite

Redwire navigation components aboard GOES-T

Redwire Corporation said it is supplying critical navigation components for NOAA’s GOES-R series of weather-monitoring satellites. The third satellite in the series, GOES-T, is scheduled to launch on 1 March 2022 on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V 541 rocket.

Globalstar orders satellites from MDA, Rocket Lab to provide buses

Globalstar, Inc. announced that the company has entered into a satellite procurement agreement (the “Procurement Agreement”) with Macdonald, Dettwiler and Associates Corporation (“MDA”) pursuant to which Globalstar will acquire 17 new satellites that will replenish and extend the life of Globalstar’s existing constellation. Rocket Lab USA, Inc. is the principal satellite bus subcontractor under the Procurement Agreement.

TAS, partners awarded two contracts for laser communication

Thales Alenia Space recently kicked-off two projects related to HydRON, being funded by the European Space Agency (ESA). The two contracts will allow Thales Alenia Space, and its partners, to develop its own vision demonstrating the potential of laser-based satellite communication.

Nanoracks customer payloads launched on NG-17

Northrop Grumman’s recently launched 17th (NG-17) commercial resupply mission is carrying five Nanoracks customer payloads on board the Cygnus spacecraft to conduct experiments that will improve environmental research on Earth and demonstrate technology necessary for future in-space economies.
