Rocket: Soyuz-2.1b; Payload: military satellite; Date: 7 April 2022, 1120 UTC; Launch site: Plesetsk, Russia. The satellite was deployed into a 299 km × 900 × 67.15 degrees orbit.

L3Harris awarded space object-tracking modernisation contract

L3Harris Technologies has been awarded US$117 million for option-year three of a U.S. Space Force and U.S. Space Command contract to continue maintaining and modernising infrastructure to track objects in space.

MetOp SG Scatterometer Antenna Subsystem completes tests

The flight model of the Scatterometer Antenna Subsystem (SAS) of the MetOp Second Generation meteorological satellites has been officially delivered after four months of extensive testing at the Airbus facility in Madrid. It will now be transferred to Airbus in Friedrichshafen (Germany) where it will be integrated into the satellite along with the other instruments.

UK Space Command contracts with SSTL for Carbonite+ satellite

Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) has signed a £22 million contract with Defence Equipment and Support on behalf of UK Space Command for a 150-kg satellite based on SSTL’s Carbonite+.

First NanoAvionics modular microsatellite MP42, two other NanoAvionics-built satellites launched with Falcon 9

The recent SpaceX Transporter-4 mission included three satellites built by smallsat mission integrator NanoAvionics for multiple customers.

Satellogic launches five additional satellites on SpaceX transporter-4 mission

Satellogic Inc. announced the launch of five additional spacecraft from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The satellites were delivered to a Sun-synchronous low-Earth orbit on SpaceX’s Transporter-4 mission on 1 April 2022 onboard the Falcon 9 reusable, two-stage rocket, under SpaceX’s Rideshare programme. All five satellites have made contact with the company’s ground station network with good health reports, bringing Satellogic’s constellation total to 22 satellites in orbit.

Kleos successfully launches Patrol Mission satellites

Kleos Space S.A., a space-powered Radio Frequency Reconnaissance data-as-a- service (DaaS) company, successfully launched its third satellite cluster, the Patrol Mission on 1 April 2022 onboard the Transporter-4 SpaceX mission.

Omnispace, TAS announce successful launch of first satellite mission

Omnispace and Thales Alenia Space announced that Omnispace Spark-1 was successfully delivered into orbit aboard the SpaceX Transporter-4. The Omnispace Spark programme represents phase one in the development and delivery of the world’s first standards-based global hybrid network.
