SBIRS GEO-5 operationally accepted

The fifth Space Based Infrared System Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (SBIRS GEO-5) satellite built by Lockheed Martin, has been operationally accepted by the U.S. Space Force less than a year after being launched into orbit.

EUMESAT awards GMV optical data services for Meteosat satellites

Following an open invitation to tender,GMV has been awarded a new contract by the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), located in Darmstadt (Germany) for the provision of Operational Optical Data Services to support the flight dynamics operations of its fleet of Meteosat (MSG and MTG) satellites in GEO.

INSAT-4B Satellite decommissioned after successful post mission disposal

As a part of India’s continual efforts towards preservation of the long term sustainability of outer space, INSAT-4B has undergone post mission disposal (PMD) at the end of its life followed by decommissioning on 24 January 2022 to comply with the UN and the INTER Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC) recommended space debris mitigation guidelines.

Leaf Space successfully enables 13 satellites on SpaceX Transporter-3 mission

Leaf Space, a provider of ground segment as-a-service (GSaaS) solutions, announced that it has established successful communications with all 13 satellites from five different customers including D-Orbit, NanoAvionics, Kepler Communications, Sen and Fossa Systems, that the company supported on SpaceX’s latest Transporter-3 rideshare mission.

OHB Earth observation satellite EnMAP to be launched in April 2022

The German Earth observation satellite EnMAP (Environmental Mapping and Analysis Program) is scheduled for launch early April 2022 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center.

SatRevolution and DcubeD partnered for the 2022 SWIFT satellite mission

Polish satellite manufacturer, SatRevolution, has announced its partnership with German-based DcubeD. SatRevolution are flying DcubeD’s payload onboard its SWIFT satellite that was launched on 13 January 2022 with SpaceX Transporter 3 mission from Cape Canerveral.

Russia’s Tactical Missiles Corporation is developing a manoeuvrable vehicle capable of deorbiting space junk, company deputy CEO for corporate development and investment Vadim Khromov was quoted as saying.
