LeoLabs, Inc. announced Australia as the site for its next space radar. The West Australian Space Radar represents a critical addition to LeoLabs global constellation of S-band, phased-array sensors. When completed in 2022, it will expand LeoLabs’ total number of radar sites to six, and total number of space radars to ten.

Rocket Lab USA, Inc announced it will attempt a controlled ocean splashdown and recovery of the first stage of an Electron rocket during the company’s next launch in November. The mission will be Rocket Lab’s third ocean recovery of an Electron stage; however, it will be the first time a helicopter will be stationed in the recovery zone around 200 nautical miles offshore to track and visually observe a descending stage in preparation for future aerial capture attempts.

The Russian Luna-27 lunar automatic station will be launched atop an Angara rocket from the Vostochny spaceport, Head of the State Space Corporation Roskosmos Dmitry Rogozin said.

For its 11th launch of 2021 with the second Ariane 5 of the year, Arianespace will orbit two geostationary satellites: SES-17, a high throughput satellite operated by SES and Syracuse 4A, a satellite developed for the French Ministry of Defense. Lift-off from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, is scheduled for Saturday, 23 October 2021, during a launch window from 0101 to 0330 UTC.
